Public-Private Partnerships

This at times controversial format takes the design-build structure and extends it further to include the financing of the project. A financial partner will form part of the design-build consortium to contribute to upfront costs and will be compensated in an agreed fashion in the longer term profitability of the building’s operation. Typically a builder management firm will also form part of the consortium for a completely turn-key solution. This format requires the participation of a public body such as a city administration.
