The Advanced Research and Innovation in Smart Environments (ARISE) building is a renovation of an existing 23,000 square foot Life Sciences Research Building. In addition to the refurbishing of the existing structure, there will be an addition of 34,500 square feet. The building will serve various future faculties in Carleton Universities pursuit of more advanced health technology, clean technology and communication technology research. The scope of work involves an extensive exterior refurbishment with an interior fit up in a secondary phase. MBC will undertake the revitalization of the existing concrete structure that will be followed by a steel fabricated addition. Upgrades to mechanical and electrical systems and equipment will endeavor to enhance the buildings energy efficiency. The building once complete, will include a modernized exterior with aluminum panel cladding and an aluminum curtain wall system.
